Essential Oil Blends for Healing & Well-Being

Posted on 01-0310-19 by admin

The Healing Power of Essential Oils

Essential oils have been used for centuries to promote wellness, balance emotions, and support the body’s natural healing process. By incorporating aromatherapy into your daily routine, you can enjoy the soothing, uplifting, and restorative benefits of nature’s pure plant essences.

Whether you’re diffusing oils for relaxation, blending them into a massage oil, or adding them to a bath, these natural essential oils can make a real difference in your mood and overall well-being.

Essential Oils are natural

Popular Essential Oils & Their Benefits

Basil – Antidepressant and antiseptic; relieves muscle and joint pain. Basil oil is also a great nerve tonic, helping clear the mind and ease fatigue.
Bergamot – Uplifting and refreshing; helps reduce stress and anxiety.
Frankincense – Promotes calmness and focus. Excellent for meditation or prayer as it deepens breathing and relieves tension.
Lavender – The ultimate relaxing and soothing oil; great for sleep and stress relief.
Orange – Cheerful and energizing; acts as both an appetite suppressant and mood booster.
Peppermint – Helps relieve headaches, clears mental fatigue, and enhances focus.
Rosemary – Stimulates alertness, clears the mind, and relieves headaches.
Sandalwood – A calming bedtime oil that supports deep, restful sleep.
Rose Geranium – Reduces stress and tension; helps with headaches and appetite control.

I have created synergistic blends for specific purposes. I have not added the exact amount of each essential oil as you will want to experiment with blending yourself. Generally, I used equal amounts of each essential oil. All of these blends would be created and then added to a carrier oil such as coconut or sweet almond.

Essential Oil Blends & Recipes

If you struggle with joint or muscle pain, these two blends can help when added to your favorite massage oil base.
(Find my recipe for homemade massage oil here.)

🌿 Joint Pain Relief Blend #1

  • 4 drops Rosemary

  • 2 drops Lavender

  • 2 drops Geranium

🌼 Joint Pain Relief Blend #2

  • 3 drops Ginger

  • 2 drops Rosemary

  • 3 drops Chamomile

☀️ Wake Me Up Blend

  • 5 drops Rosemary

  • 4 drops Lemon

  • 6 drops Bergamot

🌹 Forbidden Blend

Used in one of my handmade soaps — a spicy, exotic aroma that lingers beautifully.

  • 2 drops Ylang Ylang

  • 3 drops Bay Rum

  • 2 drops Cinnamon

  • 2 drops White Thyme

  • 1 drop Orange

💛 Mood-Boosting Blend

  • 2 drops Orange

  • 2 drops Lavender

  • 2 drops Frankincense

🌙 Relax & Sleep Well Blend

  • 3 drops Lavender

  • 3 drops Roman Chamomile

To use: Add your chosen blend to 2 tablespoons of carrier oil (like sweet almond, jojoba, or coconut). Double or triple the recipe depending on your needs.
Always store your blends in dark glass bottles, as pure essential oils can break down plastic and alter the scent over time.

Generally, the carrier oil choice for most therapeutic essential oils blends is jojoba. This is a skin-friendly, hypo-allergenic, quickly absorbing oil.  It is one of the oils I use undiluted on my face.  You could also use any of these blends in a therapeutic bath salt, recipes, and more info are here.

Essential oils do need to be stored in glass bottles and not plastic. Essential oils can degrade plastic and cause an unfriendly smell to your product, more here.

Final Thoughts

Creating your own essential oil blends is a simple way to bring the benefits of aromatherapy into everyday life. Whether you want to relieve pain, reduce stress, or simply enjoy beautiful natural scents, these recipes are a perfect place to start.
