Soap Making Books and DVD’s – guides to making soap

Posted on 09-2608-22 by Tes

Most soap makers will have a library of books and DVD’s from when they first started making soap.  I have quite a few, and some I still refer to.

If you are like me, I prefer to read a book, make notes and highlight the important parts.  So for me it is important to have those reference books handy as well as a computer.

Here are some good books you can purchase through Amazon.  I find their pricing is about the best.  Enjoy your soap making and don’t forget you can also check out the step by step instructions on my site.

    Hi there,
Homemade soap is such an interesting idea… definitely a bit of a crafty-hobby, I’d say, but probably GREAT for those of us who need to stay clear of artificial colors and chemicals!
Watching a DVD guide to making soap… is it easy to keep up with it? And would you need a laptop or tv in the kitchen or laundry room for them to be useful in a step-by-step way? Sounds like a great way for visual learners, but possibly a bit awkward. What do you think? What’s your experience?
    Thanks!

Hi Marlaine, I started making soap a long time ago and used books….that was before DVD’s. I think if a person watch the DVD first and maybe used the books as well. Seeing it done can help for sure, some people are more visual learners than others, but with laptops if you have a shelf, it might not be to hard to use it with the DVD and pause as needed.

I am so happy I found this website! I actually was looking for a soap making courses and if I am honest it is quite pricey. Here I can see a good selection of affordable books and even found a business idea. Never thought about it before, wanted to make it just for myself and my family and friends, but know I got inspired!

I love making homemade soap. I like having DIY soap making parties. All my crafty friends get together and make us a few batches. There are a few books you have recommended that look great. I am always looking at the really cool looking soaps, like cupcakes or other really cute styles. I also love adding raw ingredients, like oats and lavender. So cool! I must share this article with my soap buddies. Thanks
