A Great Place to Buy Soap-Making Supplies

Posted on 03-2703-09 by Tes

Buying Soap supplies online

All the changes going on in the world over the last few years have got me looking elsewhere for my soap-making supplies.

Some suppliers are being stretched with containers being stuck on ships or just not getting here and of course the lack of supplies to begin with.

Recently I have started doing some shopping on Amazon.  More and more soap supplies that can be bought through their site and the prices are not that bad at all!  Shop around though, but with Amazon Prime and free shipping in some cases the price is right.

Just starting out with soap making or are just wanting to make some soap for gifts, Amazon really has some fairly good prices on supplies.

Doing some of the research I have found some reasonably priced soap supplies.

The top 5 soap-making oils to be exact!

Soap Making Oils

The 5 top soap making oils

Olive Oil

Olive Oil Pomace Grade Organic Carrier Natural Cold Pressed Pure 7 LB, 1 gal, 3178 ml

Olive Oil is a wonderful oil and excellent for skin, hair, and body.  When making soap with Olive oil you will get a great mild soap that will moisturize your skin.

Coconut Oil

Rockwell’s Whole Foods Organic Virgin Coconut Oil 4000 Milliliter

Coconut oil is a great additive to your soap, this oil is one of the best for cleansing, but not only that it will give your soap great bubbles.  Soap often will not form any bubbles in hard water, but as we have lived with hard water in the past.  I know that this oil definitely will help to produce bubbles in hard water as well.

Palm Oil

Palm Kernel Oil Organic Carrier Cold Pressed Sustainable Natural 100% Pure 7 LB, 1 gal, 3178 ml

Palm oil like coconut oil will help give your soap that lather, but I use it because it will help produce a hard bar that will not melt away in the bath or shower.  You don’t need to use a lot of palm or palm kernel to get the benefits of a hard bar.

Castor Oil

Castor Oil Organic USP Grade Cold Pressed Hexane Free Premium Quality Prime Pure 7 LB, 1 gal, 3178 ml

Castor oil is a lovely oil, I use this in my shampoo bars. It will give a rich creamy lather and will add wonderful moisturizing qualities to the soap.  This is what makes it an excellent oil for Shampoo bars and shaving soaps.

Grape Seed Oil

Grapeseed Oil Organic Cold Pressed Premium Quality Natural 100% Pure 4 oz, 118 ml

Grapeseed Oil is another moisturizer, but when making soap it is best to keep this down to less than 5% of your oils.  It adds moisturizer but it doesn’t have a great long shelf life.  A little bit of this oil is great, just don’t go overboard with it.

Now all you need is a recipe – You can find simple soap recipes using these oils Soap Making Recipes
